Yesterday I was working on my webpage and my computer froze up. I lost all of my work that I had done. Sometimes I really hate computers. I was so frustrated because I actually had a lot of stuff done. That seems to be happening to me a lot lately, I think something might be wrong with my computer. I have only had it for a year and it is already acting up. Talk about annoying.

Today in Assessment Strategies we went to the Neshannock elementary school. We assessed the third and sixth graders on their hockey schools. It was a really great experience, we finally have first hand experience now. The students did a peer and self assessment, then we did a teacher assessment. All of the students were very well behaved and listed well.

That did not work either, there was practices going on ALL day. This was the second time that Jenna and I has signed out a camera too, talk about frustrating, so we are planning on doing it agian this weekend.

Today I learned about cognitive assessment for elementary students. Dr. Miller came into our Assessment Stratigies class and lectured to us a little about it. Next Thursday, the whole class is going to an elementary school to assess 6th and 3rd graders. We are making a warm-up, self assessment, peer assessment, and a game for the class to do. I am excited to go and see how everything turns out.

One of my roommates, Nikki, was thinking about studying abroad for a semester and she wanted me to go with her. So I looked up some information about studying abroad, and I decided I want to go to Ireland. The only way I can go to Ireland is if I can graduate in three and a half years. Then I can student teach in Ireland in the fall of 2009 and graduate in December. I think I might take some summer classes so I can go. I can't wait!

Today in Assessment Stratigies of PE, we learned about different types of assessments and making rubrics. There are three more traditional assessments and rubrics; self, peer, and teacher. There is only one nontraditional which is game play, assessing the students while they are in the real life game play. I think that it is a good idea to know of the different types because this will be more exiting for both the student and teacher. This will allow the teacher to mix it up more for the students and they will learn about how to assess themselves and other students.
