Yesterday I went to the mini-convention. First I listened to the high school and elementary physical educators from Girard school district. It was really nice to see how much they have changed. They have added a lot of new programs for the students. Then I went and listened to Mr. Slautterback, it was really interesting. I never really thought of doing square dancing in school, but the students seemed to really enjoy it. I think that is different and adds variety for the students and the teacher too.

I loved square dancing in elementary school. I think I remember the part about not wanting to be partners with a boy though. But I think that was one of the most fun parts of my elementary school physical education class, besides the gymnastics unit that is.
I think square dancing is a great for a classroom setting. I never would have thought of it either. I remember my brother saying when he had to take a dance course in college it was square dancing and he said it was the best time in his life (even though he can't dance.) I think every teacher needs to change the atmosphere of the classroom because some students do enjoy dancing more than playing sports.
